We play at Garrison Curling Club 2288 – 47 Avenue SW Calgary, from 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM
Calgary Wheelchair Curling Association provides an opportunity for individuals with disabilities to participate in the sport of curling. Whether you have curled before or are new to the sport, all levels of participation are welcome. We host a Saturday afternoon fun league at the Garrison Curling Club where we teach techniques and play games. Wheelchair curling provides the opportunity to improve physically and emotionally through participation in sport with other wheelchair athletes on a regular basis. We have a variety of curling delivery sticks for use to propel the curling stones down the ice surface. So, you only need warm clothes and a desire to have fun. Come out and give it a try?
The COVID-19 pandemic has required the wheelchair curling community to implement a number of changes to return to play for the 2020-2021 season. Together with Curling Canada, Curling Alberta and the Garrison Curling Club, the Calgary Wheelchair Curling Association has implemented changes to safeguard the health and safety of all participants and to limit the further outbreak of COVID-19. We will be implementing screening protocols, mask requirements (exemptions excluded) off-ice, distancing and equipment sanitization.
While the CWCA is committed to doing all we can to keep you safe, this is a team effort. We expect all players and guests to adhere to the new policies, and to hold each other accountable. It is essential that our community work together to safely ‘sport’ again.
