About The Association

The Calgary Wheelchair Curling Association (CWCA) is a non-profit organization, started in 2005 by a few people in wheelchairs wanting to get back to a game they played prior to using a wheelchair.

From that vision and determination, the CWCA was born and has continued to grow in membership and awareness to the disabled community and among able-bodied curlers in Calgary and surrounding areas.

The CWCA meets on most Saturday afternoons from 4:30-6:30pm

The Garrison Curling Club
2288 – 47 Avenue SW
Calgary, Alberta

Each week members participate in games, development & social fun.

The CWCA has hosted numerous events including a Western Canada tournament with teams from Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta, demonstrations to various groups and associations, plus the popular competition friendly 2-on-2 tournaments.

CWCA members have also gone to represent the Alberta Champions at the Canadian Championships 13 times.  This year the team was successful at winning a GOLD medal to add to their 5 Silver medals and 1 Bronze medal.  In addition, 3 of our members that have been named to Team Canada and competed in numerous World Championships and International competitions.

So, if you are looking for a great recreational sport during these long winters, one that is committed to fun and recreation with an great group of people, a sport that will challenge you personally if you let it, or allow you to enjoy friendly competition, then you got to try wheelchair curling.

Please send us a email with your contact information and we can provide you more details on how you can be involved as a player or volunteer.
